Note This is one of a group of 12 small Dutch and French silver fruit baskets that were owned by Whistler. They would all have originally had liners, probably made from glass, but none of these remain. The basket has a plain solid oval base, straight wire sides and a swing handle. The interior base is engraved with his butterfly design.
